The main attractions in Homer are all on the Homer Spit; a glacial moraine formed some 15,000 years ago! The Spit is bustling with artisan shops, restaurants and activities; it is a favorite vacation spot for Alaskans. Alaska Coastal Marine is located right on the spit. There are many restaurants, breweries and more to enjoy after your day spent on the ocean and visiting Seldovia.

Seldovia Tours

We board one of our well-maintained vessels, operated by professional USCG Licensed Captains and set sail around Kachemak Bay to explore the Fjords of Sadie Cove and Tutka Bay. Your guide will share stories and information about the natural history and land marks.

A tour highlight includes Gull Island, a bird watcher’s haven, where thousands of birds nest on the cliff faces. Among the countless birds you can spy Black-legged Kittiwake, Common Murre, Red-faced and Pelagic cormorant, and Horned and Tufted Puffin. At the right time of year, you can spot fuzzy babies in some of the nests.

We cruise by various islands and landmarks before reaching Seldovia, Alaska. This small coastal town is only accessible by plane or boat. It features charming and authentic Alaskan shops and homes. Visitors can explore tidepools, enjoy incredible hiking, rent a bike to explore the boardwalk, visit Seldovia Museum and Culture Center or just enjoy the shops and restaurants for lunch and more!

At the end of your visit we will board the boat and make our return trip to Homer on the lookout for whales, otters and all of the marine life that calls Kachemak Bay home. We arrive back in Homer about 5 PM each day, just in time to grab dinner or enjoy the many things to do in Homer, back on land.
