That legacy continues today, now as part of Maverick Charters. We’re proud to have expanded our operations by bringing Alaska Coastal Marine and Rainbow Tours into the Maverick family, ensuring that visitors and locals alike can continue to experience the best of Homer and Seldovia with the captains they’ve always known and trusted.
The Maverick Charters Story
Founded in 2015, Maverick Charters started as a small, family-run operation with a single boat, the Julia Lynn. Over the years, we expanded, growing into a four-boat fleet and becoming one of Homer’s highest-rated fishing charter operations.
In 2020, Maverick Charters joined forces with Captain Billy and merged with Silverfox Charters. Homer’s longest-running charter company. This partnership combined decades of local knowledge, bringing together a crew of seasoned captains who are passionate about fishing and dedicated to providing top-notch experiences for our guests.

Homer Fishing Charters: Familiar Captains & New Adventures with Maverick
At Maverick Charters, we’ve always been about delivering high-quality fishing experiences, and we’re excited to continue that tradition.
The full-day and 3/4 day fishing charters are run by Maverick captains.
- If you book the big boat, the 56′ Ultimate, you’ll be fishing with either Captain Billy or Captain Eric, accommodating up to 18 people.
- If you choose a 6-passenger charter, you’ll head out with one of our skilled Maverick captains.
For those looking for a shorter adventure, our 1/2 day charters continue to be operated by the same captains who have been running the Foxfire and the Spirit under Alaska Coastal Marine for years. If you’ve fished with them before, rest assured, they’re still here, delivering the same great experience you know and love.
